HJF is seeking a Program Coordinator to support the International HIV Prevention and Treatment (IHPT) within the Military HIV Research Program located at Rockledge Drive in Bethesda, MD. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to MHRP.
The Program Coordinator uses project and management skills, and content knowledge to ensure high-quality technical support for IHPT and country offices. This includes the development of site-specific workplans, budgets and contracts, and tracking of procurement needs and submissions. In addition, the incumbent serves as the programmatic point of contact in managing partner subawards/contracts and achievement of programmatic targets. The incumbent supports HJF International Contracting in monitoring incoming milestone and performance-based payments ensuring submissions are timely and accurate, and activities are in-line with PEPFAR priorities and the Country Operational Plan (COP). This is the entry level position for the program management track. It is characterized by introduction to developing and managing annual workplans, budgets, PEPFAR partner contracts and other related administrative duties.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: International contract/grant management experience in commercial and not for profit/NGO sectors. Working abroad while performing contracting duties and/or working for NGO's. Exceptional analytical skills and advanced written and oral communication skills. Ability to effectively present complex ideas to diverse audiences. Capacity to create and/or maintain systems and procedures for managing complex programs with many implementation sites, partners and stakeholders. Ability and willingness to work in a challenging and dynamic environment with competing priorities. Ability to think strategically and work in a fast-paced environment; Ability to effectively prioritize projects, schedules, and deliverables; Flexibility to adapt to changing policies and requirements; Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and time-sensitive demands; Demonstrated initiative, creativity, and flexibility in problem solving; Ability to quickly absorb and apply new concepts and systems.
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum Experience/ Training Requirements: 0 -2 years of relevant experience.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Assigned Lead: May recommend the following: employee hiring, disciplinary action, and starting salaries; provide input on employee performance evaluations.
