HJF is seeking a Part-Time Intern to support the Communications Department at the U.S. Military HIV Research Program in Bethesda, MD.

GOALS: Help write articles about HIV and Emerging infectious diseases research for website and social media. Assist with the redesign of an internal intranet and help develop a process to track scientific publications. Experience in developing content for social media and working in an office environment a plus.

Responsibilities:
1. Assist Communications Director in developing social media posts.
2. Work with staff to identify news items to promote and write articles for websites, newsletters.
3.Work with IT and graphics to help guide the upgrade of intranet used for internal communications.
4. Assist with communications and community engagement portions of a proposal for a clinical trial network in Africa and Thailand.
5.Assist with development of an electronic process to track publications, approvals and monitor opportunities for publicity.

6.Attend other assigned training and assist with other assigned duties.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficient in Word, experience posting social media or website content.
Minimum Education/Training Requirements: High School Student. Prefer Senior in College or Graduate Student

Minimum Experience: 0-2 years 

Physical Capabilities: Requires long hours of sitting and working at a computer.
Work Environment: Office environment
