HJF is seeking a Laboratory Project Coordinator to support the International Laboratory Program (INLAP) within the Military HIV Research Program (MHRP) located in Bethesda, MD. Responsibilities: 

  1. Coordinates the processing of purchase orders and supply requests with international and domestic vendors, and follow through to ensure timely delivery of supplies.
  2. Coordinates the shipment of supplies to international sites following international guidelines and tracks through delivery and reception by the site.
  3. Assist in the selection, ordering, and shipping of equipment to the international sites, as needed.
  4.  Assist with site logistics, tracking supplies, and managing inventories from the international sites using various software and web based programs.
  5. Responsible for the timely conduct and effective management of assigned activities by the International Laboratory Operations Manager and Project Managers
  6. Assist with compiling, analyzing and presenting laboratory data.
  7. Assist with scheduling and organizing meetings and calls including coordination with partners and minutes.
  8.  Assist with coordination and tracking of SOPs and laboratory manual of operations for the international sites and various research protocols.
  9. Assist with enhancing communications and standardizations  between the sites through the MHRP intranet.
  10. Complete other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge. Skills, and Abilities: Familiarity with laboratory supplies and equipment preferred.  Ability to work in a fast-paced international research environment and coordinate multiple priorities on different timelines. Flexibility to handle a variety of tasks and shift priorities as necessary.  Excellent organization , time, and project management skills with strong interpersonal skills.  Ability to effectively interact with local and international external collaborators in a culturally sensitive manner. Ability to work as an effective team member in a virtual environment. High level of initiative and drive, ability to work with minimal supervision. Proficiency in standard Microsoft Office software required. Potential for travel to international field sites.

Minimum Education/ Training: Bachelors' degree in science, health related discipline, or Business administration, required.

Minimum Experience: Strongly preferred, 1-2 years research experience working in research setting (lab, clinical).
